Hlanganisa Institute for Development South Africa is looking to fill the following positions

Job Title: Bookkeeper

Reporting to the Finance Manager
The role will include the following responsibilities

  • Processing to trial balance
  • Review supplier payments and reconciliations prior to payment being made
  • Provide overall fiscal management for allocated set of books
  • Prepare all required reports and reconciliations as stipulated
  • Filing and collating of all necessary finance documentation in a systematic, methodical process Ensure timeous follow up and feedback on queries both externally and internally
  • Handle all finance system queries from users and escalate promptly
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Finance and Operations Manager, related to the programme

Qualifications

  • A minimum tertiary education of a B Com degree or equivalent national diploma in accounting/bookkeeping or  equivalent experience in the  field
  • At least five to eight  years applied accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of NGO/NPO sector

The ideal candidate should be

  • Accurate and efficient
  • Works independently and deadline driven
  • Experience with Pastel Evolution, Sage Payroll
  • Fluent in English
  • A team player

 

Job Title: Capacity Building and Quality Assurance Officer

Reporting to the Programme Manager  
The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct due diligence assessments and periodic appraisal of all implementing partners
  • Provide On-site support, training, mentoring and coaching of grantee partner
  • Lead in program monitoring, evaluating, learning, capacity assessments  and periodic reporting related to capacity building
  • Maintaining of the grant management system
  • Participate in the  development of materials and processes for specific areas/topics identified as needed for capacity development of subgrantees
  • Support peer learning and knowledge management and sharing
  • Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in all aspects of activities planning, monitoring, and implementation.
  • Continuously check and monitor grant compliance by implementing partners
  • Contribute to the formulation of final reports to all donors, including the HIDSA’s annual report
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Programme Manager programme

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of a post graduate tertiary education or equivalent is required in Learning and Development or Development studies or other relevant qualification
  • At least five years’ work experience in similar environment
  • Working knowledge of NGO/NPO sector
  • At least 3 years’ experience in training, monitoring evaluation and mentorship
