Ikamva Labantwana Bethu (ILB) creates educational opportunities for children with great potential from Crossroads township. It is the only independent educational programme currently operating in Crossroads, an often overlooked community with a high rate of gangsterism, crime, and drug abuse. ILB assists learners from grade 4 to 7 and provides them with daily homework assistance, Saturday tutoring sessions, and academic enrichment programmes during the extended school holidays. ILB works with high-potential, committed learners to help them maintain high marks and ensure a more promising future at university and beyond.

Job Title: Youth Café Programme Manager
Job Location: Cape Town
Salary: R11 000 per month

The Youth Café Programme Manager will work closely with ILB’s Founder and Director, Siviwe Dlukwana, to launch and manage the Youth Café to operate alongside ILB’s other programmes. The Prgramme Manager will be a thought partner to the Director as they work together to develop short and long term strategies to ensure sustainability, build strategic partnerships and implement best practices to promote growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement youth café programming
  • Manage the daily administration of the Youth Café
  • Recruit, manage and develop staff
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community members, local stakeholders and donors
  • Write reports and produce marketing materials

Requirements:

  • Experience in youth development, project management or centre management
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven and able to multi task
  • Experience in managing high-performing teams and with an ability to lead and inspire
  • Tertiary qualification preferred
