The VMMC Technical Specialist will ensure the quality of the VMMC program. S/He will form part of the VMMC management team with the prime responsibility of coordinating training of providers and continuous quality assurance teams as well as clinical supervision of clinical teams. His/Her main responsibility is the clinical supervision of clinical team, ensuring safety and quality of clinical services.The positions will be based in Durban, Ulundi and Sedibeng.

 

 

Job Title: VMMC Technical Specialist
Location: South Africa

Responsibilities:

• Supervise clinical teams to ensure quality VMMC services are provided in accordance with national and international guidelines
• Weekly review of all moderate to severe adverse events; ensure all severe adverse events are correctly managed, referred appropriately and reported within prescribed timelines
• Ensure that the VMMC minimum package of services is provided at all supported sites
• Ensure clinical standards are met pre, during and post operation
• Work with site coordinators to ensure that project documents (to include client files, registers, project reports, and SOPs) are complete, current, and stored appropriately at respective sites within his/her province.
• Work with site coordinators to ensure that sites comply with the infection control standards to minimize occupational exposure of all clients and staff.
• Compile monthly, quarterly, annual and other adhoc reports as need arises.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Medical doctor or Clinical associate with at least 5 years’ experience implementing VMMC services is required
• Proof of clinical competence to perform VMMC with at least (2) two years performing MMC
• Experience managing and supervising staff in a clinical setting
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to write reports, develop power point presentation and present program at provincial and national level
