We are curretly recruiting for an experienced and qualified IT Technician

Job Title: IT Technician
Location: Northern Cape – Kathu

Job Summary:
Effective management of underground mining wireless communication products and systems across the product development and deployment cycle.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Sound knowledge of Coal and Hard rock operations and processes in South Africa, Engineering Codes of practices, policies and procedures
Aware of best practices and new technologies relating to engineering (including electronic engineering) principles and processes.
Flameproofing and Gas Testing knowledge
Computer Literacy (MS Office) and strong administrative skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Both written and verbal)
Ability to work under pressure and interact at various levels (Interact with clients professionally)
Ensure on-going maintenance on mining communications products and ensure advanced technical problems are identified and resolved within reasonable timeframe
Compile weekly reports
Working in teams, liasing and working with customers
Working in a customer facing technical environment
Working in IT communications field in mining industry or similar environment
IP Networking, WiFi 802.11x, QOS, VLAN structures and configuration, PBX technologies including Asterix, Cisco Call Manager, Linux Operating Systems(Debian and CentOS), Common Networking and RF tools (Wireshark, Kismet, AirPcap, WiSpy, etc), Other radio communications, SQL, Mysql, PHPMyAdmin
Experience with Python, AutoCAD, Visio, or other graphics / CAD tools
Manage the mining communications product line (including, WiFi nodes, CommTrac, Shaft Clearance, Tracking, Software & Servers, Digital Bridge, PBX and Telephony solutions)
Liaise with customers on the state of the mining communications products and intervene in the event of it not functioning to their expectation.
Work with and lead relevant company personnel in the sales, management, project execution, maintenance and technical implementation of the IT products and systems
Lead and engage with all relevant parties in the implementation of mining communications products and services
Within the bounds of the value of integrity ensure the success (performance and market acceptance) of the product line.
Adhere to the required controls, metrics and/or processes/procedures to ensure the success of the product line.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, including the MHSA, OHSA, ICASA and Explosion Prevention standards

Minimum Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering / Computer Systems Engineering
Valid driver’s license
Own transport
Pass medical assessment on allocated site (Preference will be given to local applicants that meet the requirements)
Flameproof and Gas testing qualification (advantageous)
Certificate in Network Maintenance (advantageous)
2 years CommTrac Experience installing, commissioning, maintaining system infrastructure

Package & Remuneration:
Cost to Company R 48 000.00 – R52 000.00 per month
