Job Title: Tutor: Geography _ Amended Senior Certificate / Adult Matric (Independent Contractor)

Job Summary:
This position of tutor for the subject Geography is available in Milpark College. The Amended Senior Certificate (also called the Adult Matric) allow for students over the age of 21 to complete their matric qualification. The ideal candidate for this position must have teaching experience at Grade 11 and 12 level, in Geography.

Responsibilities:

•Answer tutor queries
•Assess students’ progress throughout tutoring sessions.
•Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
•Mark assignments
•Create pre-recorded videos
•Communicate students’ progress to students on Milpark’s online learning platform.
•Participate in training development sessions to improve tutoring practices, learn the online Learning Management System (Moodle) or learn new tutoring techniques.
•Identify, develop, or implement intervention strategies and tutoring plans.
•Where possible, provide Milpark with training materials, like hand-outs, revision activities, or quizzes.
•Travel to a Milpark campus to record tutoring sessions where needed.
•Review subject material with student by discussing text, working solutions to problems, reviewing worksheets or other assignments.

Requirements:
Education & Experience Requirements:

•A National Diploma in Teaching
•Teaching experience in Geography at Grade 11 and 12 level.
•Minimum of three years’ teaching experience in a High School.
•Computer Literate.
•Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proven track record of excellent time management and administrative skills.
•Be able to develop teaching and assessment material.
