ROLE PURPOSE

Working as part of the Managed Security Services organization, the role involves delivery of both commercial projects to strategic customers. Projects vary considerably between security reviews; design and implementation of Cisco and other network security products; and involvement as part of virtual multi-discipline teams as the security lead in large-scale design and implementation projects. The role also involves the delivery of managed security services e.g., Management, monitoring, and reporting as well as support. In addition, the position also requires pre-sales capability as well as thought leadership to Nexio and its customers around risk reduction using network security products.

ROLE REQUIREMENT

• Provide solution and product specific consultation and support.
• Configuration and setup of Networking devices in Customer Networks. Support of this networking equipment and future enhancements.
• Direct impact on Support and contract deliverables
• Assume responsibility for the following:Ensure devices are configured correctly for deployment.  Support existing customer network equipment

Manage and maintain the customer network.

• Troubleshooting network communications at sites
• Manage the devices at customer data center and at Nexio Internal
• Co-ordinate all new installations of sites and 3rd Party service provider sites while working closely with the client and stakeholders
• Confirm that all devices/hosts are reachable at sites
• Confirm that failover remains functional
• Assist with troubleshooting customer connectivity issues with the client and stakeholders
• Manage links
• Ensure operational Incidents (Down sites etc…) take priority over requests / projects etc
• Regular consultation and updates to client on incidents
• Liaise with Vendors to resolve issues
• Manage and maintain device configurations for optimal performance
• IP address allocation / management
• Monthly reporting. on Downtime, Network reliability
• Patch / Firmware updates
• Standby rotation

TECHNICAL / PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

• Take the lead role in projects, managing less experienced engineers to ensure a successful outcome to the project.
• Perform implementation and technical leadership in pre-sales and Proof of Concept [POC] customer engagements.
• Provide technical support on networking security products for lower tier engineers at customers and in Nexio.
• Provide architectural diagrams and concepts to meet company solution requirements.
• Act as thought leader to assess existing network security product implementations and suggest improvements to design and implementation.
• Implement, upgrade and maintain products in the network security stack.
• Develop standard operating procedures and guides for junior resources to refer to in future engagements.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• Matric / Grade 12
• Cisco (CCNA R&S or higher)
• CCNP Security
• Fortinet ( NSE4 or higher)
• Palo Alto (PCNSA or higher)
• Cloudflare experience will be advantageous
• Additional certification will be advantageous
• 5 years’ experience in large scale network Security operations using network security products.
• 2 years’ experience on one or more of the following vendors: Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Arbor, Forcepoint, Z-Scaler, F5 Networks, Cloudflare etc.
• 1 years’ experience on one or more of the following firewall management and auditing tools: Algosec, Tufin, Skybox, Firemon
