Job Title: Risk Officer
Location: Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Salary: R 407,622.00 – 450,089.00 Annually

Job Summary:
Participate in developing municipality risk management framework consisting of: Risk Management Policy; Risk Management Strategy; Risk Management, Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Committee Charter; Fraud and Corruption policy; Fraud and Corruption plan and strategy; Risk Assurance Plan, Risk Appetite and Tolerance Framework; by
•Researching good practices and new development that might enable the municipality to achieve its objective.
•Aligning the Framework with the applicable legislations and guidelines issued by Treasury.
•Benchmarking with other municipalities then incorporate to the Risk Management Framework.
•Circulate the framework to all committees and stakeholders for inputs
•Consolidating inputs from various stakeholders

Assist with Risk Management, Fraud and Corruption Activities:

•Coordinate the risk identification and assessment workshops
•Facilitate the risk identification and assessment workshops
•Assist in developing action plans to manage identified risks
•Monitor the progress of risk mitigation activities
•Collating, aggregating, interpreting and analysing the results of risk assessments
•Maintain and update the risk registers
•Facilitate training of Risk Champions
•Coordinate training of Risk Management Committee Members
•Perform Secretariat duties for the Risk Management, Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Committee and Loss Control Committee
•Developing procedures and processes to prevent and detect Fraud and Corruption

Assist with provision of Risk Management Support to local municipalities by:

•Facilitate the risk assessment process of Local Municipalities on request.
•Assist management in developing action plans to manage identified risks.
•Monitor the progress on implementation of risk management plan of all municipalities within the district
•Consolidate progress made in implementation of risk management plan of all municipalities.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 Certificate, A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Risk Management / Internal Audit. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Good coordination skill, Verbal and Written Communication Skill. Registered with a relevant professional body (IRMSA/ IIASA)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in risk management practise especially in Local Government.
