Primary Purpose
The Financial Manager produces financial reports and develops strategies based on financial research. They guide management in making sound financial business decisions in the long and short term.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Management of Okavango Wilderness Safaris Pty Ltd and its related companies’ finance team
- Recruitment, management and development of finance staff
- On time submission of monthly accounts, along with which goes:
- Provision of accurate and timeous financial information
- Maintenance of accurate and complete accounting records
- Preparation of monthly management accounts commentaries
- Managing the month-end process
- Preparation and submission of monthly group reporting packs
- Working capital management, including Bank and Cash, Accounts Receivables, Inventory and Accounts Payables as well as all the associated processes
- Processing of group related and third party revenue
- Reviewing work done by junior staff and ensuring it meets Wilderness Safaris’ minimum quality standards
- Tax compliance including preparation and submission of all relevant tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, deferred tax calculations.)
- Preparation and review of cash availability reports and monthly Cash Flows
- Implementation and maintenance of effective systems of internal control
- Completion of the quarterly Rolling Forecasts
- Management of the annual year- end audit
- Preparation of year-end audit packs and interim reporting pack
- Management of the Capex process and Fixed Asset Registers
Requirements
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION / TRAINING
- Newly qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
- Advanced Excel
- Computer Literate
- Working/practical knowledge of Botswana Companies Act, Income Tax, VAT, statutory deductions, etc.REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 4 years, with at least 2 years’ experience at a managerial level with total responsibility for the complete financial reporting function, or
- External audit experience up to at least Audit Supervisor level
