Objectives

Implement operating procedures to test, troubleshoot, operate, maintain and commission plant electrical equipment/machinery and provide technical support to the production area team to ensure maximum electrical equipment/machinery availability for production to take place

Outputs

Implement operating procedures to perform switching operations to isolate and energise circuits on electrical equipment/machinery to enable Production, Maintenance and Marine departments to utilise the electrical equipment/machinery safely
Preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability and ensure that electrical equipment/machinery is maintained to the required standards
Implement operating procedures to test, troubleshoot and commission electrical equipment/machinery to ensure that problems are rectified and maintain maximum availability of electrical equipment/machinery at all times
Implement operating procedures to conduct routine inspections on electrical equipment/machinery and identify and record defects on electrical equipment/machinery
Update the relevant quality management systems to ensure that all the required information is captured and stored for planning, referencing and audit purposes
Implement SHEQ, housekeeping and the relevant plant operating procedures to ensure that the workplace is kept clean and safe for operation at all times
Contain expenditure within the budget guidelines to ensure that funds are optimally utilised in service delivery
Provide advice and assistance to internal and external customers regarding requests or queries related to the electrical equipment/machinery being utilised within the plant area for quality customer service
Manage the development and implementation of a personal learning and growth plan to ensure continued development

Qualifications

A valid NQF 4 Electrician trade test certificate and Grade 12/N3 with Electrical Trade Theory, Maths and Science

Experience

3 years’ post qualification experience as Junior Electrician in the petrochemical industry or marine environment

Other

The successful incumbent must be willing to relocate to the greater Mossel Bay area
Must be prepared to work on a two weeks off and two weeks on rota basis
Job Grade: TA11
