POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and communicating all RIM/BlackBerry product strategies and roadmaps to the carrier and distributor partners across West Africa. He/she will become intimate with the product strategies and plans of the carrier and work to influence the positioning and success of RIM’s BlackBerry products and services within the carrier’s plans. The Carrier Product Manager will act as the primary point of contact within RIM Product Management for their carriers. The individual will be interfacing directly with their carrier partners on product requirements, portfolio roadmaps and product marketing plans. Key to all these responsibilities is the carrier product manager’s ability to manage the relationships between RIM/BlackBerry and the various stakeholder groups at the carrier.
The Carrier Product Manager will support their carrier to ensure complete understanding of the BlackBerry product offerings and work closely with the carrier to create an integrated marketing and product strategy which drives success in the enterprise and retail markets today and tomorrow. The Carrier Product Manager will be driving the launch of new products/services, successful in-life programs as well as managing activities involved with end of life.

Job Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
The role requires technical aptitude, thriving upon working in a dynamic environment and in delivering to deadlines. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills enjoy challenges and experiencing new technology
In depth knowledge of the West African mobile data market, marketing technology trends and telecoms landscape
Educated to degree level, or equivalent
Experience in bringing new products/services to market
Demonstrated understanding of both the technical as well as business issues involved with those product offers
Relevant product management experience at device manufacturer or a carrier device related role. With a record for successfully simultaneously managing multiple products and projects
Experience of RIM BlackBerry products and services, or mobile devices industry would be an advantage
Strong ability to interface with both customer product teams and internal product teams
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation technique and a proven ability to present to a variety of different audiences
A self starter, with good organization skills and the ability to drive initiatives forward
