We are looking for a reliable Management Accountant to assist senior management in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data. You will oversee accounting procedures and prepare forecasts, budgets and variance analysis.

A management accountant must have an exceptional analysis and interpretation skills combined with a strong business orientation. You must be able to assume responsibility of cost accounting tasks and be both a strategist and a decision maker. The goal is to contribute to the decision making process of management that will ensure business growth and long-term success.

Specification
•Analyse financial performance and contribute to planning and forecasting
•Work with Heads of Department and other budget holders to set budgets for the organisation and ensure budgets and data are complete and accurate for finance management reporting systems
•Work with Heads of Departments and other budget holders to interpret and communicate financial data, putting the finances and accounts in context and help make financial decisions
•Provide effective help, advice and support to SMVAF line managers
•Drive improvements in use of finance packages particularly developing the reporting function and structure of chart of accounts
•Ensure spending is kept in line with budgets
•Identify and resolve issues to support effective transactions processing
•Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed
•Develop effective performance measurement and reporting
•Controlling and Forecasting income and expenditure
•Accountable for production of final accounts for the SMVAF and its subsidiaries jointly with the Finance Manager
•Preparing regular (monthly) reports for financial performance to SMVAF’s leadership forum
•Preparing Quarterly management reports for the Executive Committee

Requirements
• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. Studying towards CA, ACCA or CIMA will be an added advantage.
• Completed articles with a reputable audit firm, with at least one year leadership/supervisory role
•Strong accounting background, IT skills, ability to use accounts management reporting software, spreadsheets, and to devise and
create useful reports.
•Excellent analytical skills and the ability to problem solve
•Strong communication skills, written and oral, to communicate with finance specialists and non-specialists, and the negotiating
skills to gain agreement to financially sensible outcomes
•Professional and working knowledge of financial accounting standards
•Knowledge of accounts office procedures and their link to management accounting.
