The South African Graduates Development Association (SAGDA) is a Section 21 Company established by a group of unemployed graduates in 1997. The graduates were faced with challenges emanating from the South African economy’s inability to create adequate job opportunities thereby rendering hordes of graduates unemployed. These young men and women decided to establish SAGDA with an emphasis on assisting graduates find employment and participate in the South African economy.
Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in Finance and or Accounting (SAQA NQF 7)
- Five to 10 years’ senior managerial experience in the field of finance or accounting
- A relevant post graduate qualification will an added advantage
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge and understanding of the Finance Management legislation applicable to the NPOs and the Companies Act
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel is essential
- Self-driven individual in possession of the following skills and competencies:
- Strategic Capability and Leadership
- Financial Management (including principles of GRAP, auditing practices and business planning)
- Programme and Project Management
- Problem Solving and Analysis
- Negotiation, Communication, Analytical and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, work under pressure and pay attention to detail
- Frequent traveling and working extra hours is an essential requirement for the position
- Strong written and oral communication skills and high level of English proficiency
- Analytical abilities and assessment/ auditing skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Interpersonal and consultative skills
- Must be in a possession of a valid driver’s license, have own car and willing to travel
