Take charge as the technical and production on the manufacturing site responsible for production outputs, asset care, building maintenance, production breakdowns, efficiency and waste targets as well as safety.

Key roles and responsibilities
Manage Safety, Health, Environment & Risk at Plant’
•Adherence to Group Policies and Procedures
•Targets set for Plant are met
•Legal compliance/legislation adhered too – OHSA compliance
•Maintain safety and house – keeping standards in all areas of the plant
Manage Plant, Process and systems at Plant
•Manage all plant process to within Group standards set
•Factory, pack line efficiencies & availability managed above targets set
•Daily, weekly, Monthly production plan met through close communication with central planning
•Support Central planning with long term planning
•Support NPD initiatives and cost reduction projects
•Continuous improvement process managed to enhance efficiencies
•Optimise process capability
Production
•Ensure that all production targets relating to machine efficiencies, utilization and scrap percentages are attained
•Material balance process, system, daily control and monthly report
•Production and Capacity Planning on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
•Monthly reporting
Maintenance and Engineering projects
•Ensure preventative and scheduled maintenance are adhered to
•Ensure availability of services to the plant (compressed air, chilled water, substations)
•Manage any engineering related projects
•Reduce energy usage
•Control maintenance and spares costs & systems
Quality
•Ensure quality policies, processes and specifications are clearly adhered too
•Maintain customer relations through delivering superior quality products and services
•Customer interaction – 24-hour response to quality complaints
Manage Human resources and Plant morale
•Roles, responsibilities & Job descriptions fully understood
•Training process supported to enhance skills
•Performance management and goal setting process driven
•One on one and Goal setting process supported at all levels
•Ensure a healthy climate is maintained with all staff and team dynamics facilitated

Finance
•Provide accurate information for all Capex Projects
•Identify and investigate innovation and development of capex projects
•Ensure capex budget is adhered too

•All statutory requirements adhered too
•Roll Out Safety Plan
•Safe work procedures for all positions and tasks
Drive Manufacturing strategy into the plant
•Group Manufacturing strategy understood and rolled out to all plant

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
•BSc or BEng, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial degree
•Experience from FMCG or packaging industry
•Experience: at least 10 years’ experience in a managerial role covering both production and technical.
•Understanding of Safety and Human resource management (Desirable)
•Good appreciation for site project management (Desirable)
•Government Certificate of competency (GCC) (Desirable)
•Good appreciation for factory planning, quality management and good maintenance practices
•Proven track record of implementing and managing WCM principals
