PLANNING SPECIALIST

Acacia Mining seeks to employ a Planning Specialist based at our Johannesburg Office. This role reports to the Financial Planning Manager and the role holder will be accountable to facilitate and provide information / analysis that ensures short, medium and long term financial planning information is provided on a timely and accurate basis within the strategic objectives of the Company.

This is a permanent role based in Johannesburg.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Monthly review of management accounting information
• Consolidated forecasting (rolling monthly and official quarterly forecasts)
• 3 Year Budgets as part of the consolidated Business plan
• Consolidated Life of Mine (LoM) plan
• Sensitivity / scenario analysis
• Corporate M&A activity support / analysis
• Preparation of financial models, reports and presentations
• Optimisation of planning management system (HPB), including the maintenance and improvement in reference to the planning deliverables of the system and zero internal control deficiencies
• Preparation of LOM/ Budget Procedures and providing advice thereof
• Providing advice on Budgets / Reforecasting
• Stakeholder management by liaising / facilitating with other functions within the organisation in respect of the site management, procure-to-pay, technical services, BI, corporate finance/treasury and financial reporting functions
• Team membership by actively contributing, thinking critically, and supporting peers
• Completing assigned tasks on time and to standard
• Drive team work by interaction between sites and Corporate / finance and non-finance
• Drive accountability across stakeholder group

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualification Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Finance/Commerce
• Post graduate degree in alternative Finance, Business
• Member of CA Institute or equivalent (CPA/ACCA/CFA) will be an added advantage

Experience Requirements:

• More than 5 years’ experience in finance support roles (corporate/operation) in a mining or manufacturing company
• Extensive practical experience in a financial reporting, treasury and planning, ideally in a global mining organization
