African Bank Sustainability Specialist Careers

3 years experience as Sustainability officer

PREFERRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
4 years experience as Sustainability officer

KEY RESULT AREAS
Maintenance of Sustainability Function
Research and develop strategies including global best practise and implement plans of action on identified areas of sustainability
Ensure that these plans of action are implemented throughout the business units

Communication and Training
Prepare and present on-boarding to new staff to create awareness regarding the Group’s environmental and sustainability philosophy and activities
Plan and implement education and awareness events for staff
Provide input and guidance to all Departments that require information on implementing environmental and sustainability processes
Facilitate training and education on environmental and sustainability issues. Prepare the content of education and awareness training for staff
Develop communication plan and implementation for education campaigns

Reporting
Follow up with external service providers and internal divisions to obtain reports, and sort, store and analyse data as required for reporting purposes
Facilitate the collation of accurate environmental data on a monthly or quarterly basis as required for inclusion in the annual integrated report as well as for CDP
Prepare and submit quarterly reports on required aspects of sustainability to direct manager.
Prepare reports including for Board and Exco meetings and for the annual integrated report
Ensure that data required is received and that same can be verified
Facilitate the collection and capturing of response on SRI / Dow Jones requirements and submit reports as requested
Facilitate the resolution of any queries received from the JSE and Dow Jones.

General Functions 
Co-ordinate environmental Committee meetings, follow up with committee meeting outcomes, drafting of minutes and agendas
Attend to any additional matters relating to the portfolio as requested from time to time
