Job Title: Regulatory Centre of Excellence Manager in our Financial Services Division
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Market Related

The primary purpose of the Regulatory Centre of Excellence Manager role is to provide support to the Financial Services practice by ensuring that all Financial Services staff are trained and kept informed regarding legislation and regulation related to financial services, including latest developments in this field. Providing support and advice to audit and advisory teams (internally) as well as developing material and presenting training to external clients, is also important. Managing banks’ regulatory audits as part of the financial statements audit, is a key function of the position. Providing regulatory advice internally and to external clients is also an important task.

 

Specification
Principle Outcomes:
•Managing banks’ regulatory audits
•Providing on-going training relating to FS staff at all levels
•Providing regulatory advice internally and externally (to clients)
•Technical regulatory consultations with audit teams/clients
•Developing internal and external communications relating current and impending regulatory developments

We are looking for candidates who would be able to:
•Make decisions regarding acceptable regulatory treatment in straightforward regulatory queries
•Develop and compile regulatory training material for review
•Present training material both internally and externally
•Research regulatory related queries / topics / new developments and communicate, both orally and in writing, the results of the research in a clear, unambiguous manner
•Draft written regulatory advice / opinions in a clear, unambiguous manner
•Work in a team and collaborate with persons within and outside the team

Requirements
•Knowledge of financial services legislation / regulation, whilst not essential, would be beneficial:
-B.Com Honours; CA(SA) – 1-2 years’ post-qualification experience; or
-B.Com Honours – 3 years post-qualification experience in financial services
