Ecowize is an international Hygiene and Sanitation company renowned for continual improvement and technological innovation.

As part of our 2021 strategy to expand into new markets and offer comprehensive solutions to industry-specific customers, we require an innovative and experienced Product development Technologist to join the Ecowize Group SA.

The successful incumbent must be experienced in product development, with a high-level of attention to detail, and experience in chemical controls.





Job Title: Product development Technologist | JHB
Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa

Job Summary:
The successful incumbent will be responsible for expanding and providing improvement to new products and implementing appropriate tests. You will be responsible to help grow our chemical product range.

High-level Job Objectives:
1.Provide sound product and chemical advice to all stakeholders.
2.Responsible for all aspects to deliver value to the organisation in supporting and driving product development and expanding product ranges.
3.Identify continuous service and business performance improvement initiatives for the Products Department and Quality Department.

Job Responsibilities:
• Research and develop chemical formulations, and manufacturing instructions.
• Evaluation and Improvement on current product formulations
• Make & test product samples based on specifications received
•Compiling product files for sites & customers
•Drafting, control & filing of product documentation in iLeader, EcoNet and distribution to external customers for current and new products; Technical data sheets (product specification), Safety data sheets, Labels andTest methods.

Other duties will include:
•Administer CoA vault & create product CoA’s
•Investigate & process non-conformances & complaints
• Review and update procedures with regards to Legislative requirements
•Support sales team
•Coordinate New product trials
•Develop & validate Test methods
•Prepare test kits for sites
•Satellite and conductivity meter calibrations
•Co-ordinate & liaise with Laboratories on product sample analysis
•Co-ordinate & liaise with registration institutions on product registrations
•Assist with sourcing of Raw Materials
•Assist with Supplier audits
• Any additional reasonable instruction
•General administration

Minimum Requirements:
•Experience in the service industry is essential.
•National Diploma in analytical chemistry or similar is essential.
•At least 3 years’ of experience in chemical field/industry/ Laboratory & new product development.
•Experience in leading a diverse team and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

•Strong leadership and organisational skills.
•Ability to engage with people at different skill levels.
•Excellent verbal and written communication.
•Strong Negotiating skills.
•Attention to detail.
