Our client, based in the United Kingdom, is in the promotions and branch merchandising industry and they are looking to hire a 3D & CAD Designer to join their team remotely from South Africa as soon as possible.

 

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and creative 3D Designer and CAD Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in 3D design, CAD, and rendering, and be able to translate concepts into visually stunning 3D products. In addition to technical skills, this role requires a strong creative vision and the ability to collaborate with our clients to bring their ideas to life.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D Modeling and Rendering: Create realistic 3D models and renderings of merchandise products based on client concepts. This includes products like t-shirts, mugs, promotional items, etc.
• CAD Design: Develop detailed CAD designs for manufacturing, ensuring that the designs are production-ready and can be easily translated into physical products.
• Keyshot Expertise: Proficiently use KeyShot to create high-quality renderings and visuals that showcase product designs in a photorealistic manner.
• Concept Translation: Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into a 3D product. This may involve integrating flat designs (e.g., logos) onto 3D surfaces (e.g., t-shirts) and ensuring they conform to the product’s shape and contours.
• Creative Ideation: Generate innovative and creative design ideas independently or as part of a team to offer unique solutions to clients.
• Prototyping: Create prototypes and mockups to help clients visualize the final product and make necessary adjustments.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all 3D designs and CAD files meet quality and production standards.
• Software Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest design software and tools to maintain a competitive edge in the field.

 

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a 3D Designer, CAD Designer, or a related role.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software, including KeyShot.
• Strong CAD design skills with the ability to create detailed technical drawings.
• Experience with translating 2D designs onto 3D surfaces, such as t-shirts.
• Excellent creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with clients and team members.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Portfolio showcasing a range of 3D design work, including examples of product visualization and concept translation.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field is a plus.

This position is remote and is part-time (Monday-Friday, 2-3 hours per day, flexible)

Location: Remote work for a company based in the United Kingdom

Salary: R13 000-15 000 CTC
