Job Summary:
Risk Assessments:
Establish a risk assessment Committee team –Conduct risk assessments
Document all risks identified and maintain register
Train staff on risks involved and procedures to be followed during executing tasks
Audits and Inspections:
Plan for and execute internal audits
Do inspections on physical conditions of plant
Perform PPE inspections
Training:
Conduct SHEQ training needs analysis
Develop training material
Deliver training programmes
Update training information on files and matrix
Do follow-up audits
Select, arrange and coordinate external training interventions
Incident/Accident Investigation:
Plan & conduct for investigations
Conduct ICAM with Team members
Determine root causes
Implement corrective actions
Compile and distribute report to manager
Administration:
Provide SHEQ advisory services to line management
Advise employees on safe operating methods
Maintain register of SHEQ performance information
Correspondence with client and record keeping
Compile reports on SHEQ related information e.g. incidents/accidents/statistics/PTO s /training etc.
Ensure that subcontractors that come to site has all the required compliances before start of task
Advice Management on safety related issues and recommend action plan to address issues
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12
National Diploma in Safety Management
COMSOC 1&2 or SAMTRAC will be advantageous
EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years experience as a Safety Officer or Safety Assistant is required
