The Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) is an independent think tank, which seeks to promote and defend liberal constitutional democracy and the rule of law.

Job Title: Researcher
Job Location: Johannesburg

Responsibilities:

• Policy-oriented research
• Public interest litigation, with implications for constitutional jurisprudence

The Researcher will work directly with the Head of Research, and collaboratively with colleagues, to compile evidence-based research reports and policy briefs for the HSF.

Requirements:

• Post-graduate degree in a related social science and/or humanities field
• Knowledge of economics and an ability to work with quantitative data will be an advantage
• Research experience (including experience and publications will be an advantage)
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Demonstrated knowledge of policy, socio-economic and legal environment in South Africa
• English language and writing skills;
• Willingness to travel
