We are searching for a dynamic Video Editor to join the Jacaranda FM Digital Team. The successful incumbent will be based at Midrand and service Jacaranda FM, a division of Kagiso Media (Pty) Ltd.
The Video Editor will be responsible for editing and sometimes shooting productions in the necessary formats for the on-air and online product including weekly vlogs, blogs, online documentaries, music videos, corporate videos, or any other content.

Job Summary:
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Editorial:
•Servicing radio station’s programming and editorial team.
•Produce quality visual content that entertains and engages audiences on all multimedia platforms.
•Create purpose-driven content in conjunction with the sales department.
•Produce and direct Jacaranda FM video promotions.
•Oversee storyboarding & scripting of station’s video content.
•Creating and or receiving a brief, and maybe an outline of footage and/or a shot list, script, or screenplay for creation.
•Storyboarding, filming, assembling recorded raw material (camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects) and putting into a finished product suitable for broadcasting and publishing online.
•Assembling all raw footage, with audio and camera shots.
•Writing voiceover/commentary.
•Suggesting or selecting music.
•Publishing the content on the necessary platforms incorrect format.

Social Media:
•Produce and edit online social media content.

Programming Team participation:
•Participates as a member of the programming team.
•Contributes positively to the Programming team and station.
•Work Shifts according to Shift Roster.
•Required to work on weekends in accordance to shift roster as required.
Execute any tasks that may reasonably be expected.
General:

•Equipment management and maintenance.
•Attend product meetings for the department and provide creative input.
•Liaise with internal and external stakeholders throughout the production process.

Requirements:
Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Photography, Cinematography, Media Production, or related field.

Experience:
•Proficiency in Final Cut Pro For Mac, Adobe Elements.
•Minimum 4 years in producing and editing and directing video productions.
•Proficient in filming and editing, with a good technical knowledge of audio and lighting.
•Substantial digital knowledge and experience, and be social media savvy.
•Minimum of 4 years experience in filming, editing, and publishing on digital platforms.
•Must be versatile, adaptable, and able to multi-task, work fast and well under pressure; be a team player
