Just Share is a nonprofit shareholder activism and responsible investment organisation that promotes the use of investor power for a fairer South Africa.

Job Title: Responsible Investment Researcher

Salary: Will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate

Responsibilities:

• Independent research and analysis of ESG issues impacting South Africa
• Assimilate developments (including regulatory developments) in the fast-paced fields of responsible investment and shareholder activism, both locally and internationally
• Research and prepare investor briefings, case notes and media releases
• Research and prepare of shareholder resolutions and AGM questions

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification (financial or legal background helpful, but not essential)
• Minimum of three years of post-tertiary qualification work experience
• Strong research and analysis skills
• Strong written communication and presentation skills
• Commitment to social and environmental justice
• Organised and thoughtful
• Responsible investment and shareholder activism
• Key ESG issues facing companies operating in South Africa
• Corporate governance, disclosure and reporting requirements
