Job Title: Student Support and Development Advisor

Job Summary:
We are looking to appoint a Student Support & Development Advisor for the CA Connect programmes. This role provides a full range of support and development services to enrich student life and promote student wellbeing and strengthen academic results and resilience. In this role you will facilitate both proactive and reactive interventions that empower students with support and development that increases their chances of success on the programme. The role is focused on both individual support and community development. This role works alongside the Operations and Academic teams and reports directly to the Head of Student Experience.

Job Title: Student Support and Development Advisor

Responsibilities:
•Provide academic, psychosocial and student life support and development to CA Connect students.
•Support students with the development of study plans and study skills.
•Act as a point of contact for student support and development needs.
•Respond to and resolve student queries in a timely manner, while demonstrating the core values of the CA Connect community.
•Provide frontline support service, in identifying and resolving student issues, and where specialist service interventions have been identified, ensure that the necessary referrals are made efficiently and
professionally to the relevant stakeholders.
•Identify important or urgent issues and ensure that they are escalated appropriately to the relevant stakeholders and/or intervention prepared and implemented.
•Monitor student academic performance and engagement.
•Identify and monitor at-risk students.
•Prepare and implement various interventions, based on student need, for students (in line with student health and wellness, academic support and student life) for delivery via a variety of mechanisms.
•Develop appropriate and effective ways of communicating with students and staff.
•Deliver orientation for new intakes
•Develop a strong community of learning amongst CA Connect students.
•Design and facilitate peer support and peer-assisted learning systems.
•Facilitate student leadership bodies.
•Manage the design and implementation of the CA Connect Mentorship programme.
•Contribute to the planning for the continuous improvement of the CA Connect student experience.
•Facilitate improved awareness of student performance, engagement and community KPI’s with the academics supporting the CA Connect programmes to empower them to improve and adapt academic
interventions where appropriate

Requirements:
Education & Experience Requirements
•Relevant 4-year degree in Psychology
•Preferred BPsych or BPsych Equivalent degree and registration as a Registered Counsellor
•Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
•2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education.
•Highly developed relationship building / interpersonal skills
•Excellent written and spoken communication skills
