The purpose of the Senior Procurement Officer is to coordinate and supervise all activities and tasks in the Procurement department for compliance and quality control.

Specification
•Assist the Manager in developing the departmental procurement strategy including specific key user and product procurement strategies
•Manage the internal approvals according to the agreed corporate governance guidelines as per the Tender and Procurement Policy
•Draft contracts for operational and commercial perspective in consultation with key users and legal, under the supervision of the Manager
•Undertake negotiations in the professional manner and in the best interest of MTC
•Monitor the creation of purchase orders as per the Tender and Procurement Policy document
•Monitor and manage the supplier master file to ensure correctness of data
•Manage excellent supplier relationship and performance
•Play a supervisory role to the team with regards to performance tasks and deliverables and ensuring required evidence and support is prepared.

Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field
•Procurement/ Logistics/ Supply chain, Commerce or related field – 3 years
•Supervisory experience – 2years
•Procurement, Administration and ERP experience – 3 years
•Project management skills
•Must have strong organization & solid negotiation, administration, interpersonal and good communication skills. (Strong requirement)
•Must be detail orientated, accurate and focused.
•Must be able to perform well under pressure (very stress full environment)
•Ability to work independently but also be a team player
•Must be fully computer literate, and be well spoken in English, with a valid driver’s licence.
•Namibian Citizenship or Residency
