Vacancy Details

A Medical Insurance Company based in Benoni is currently looking to employ a IT Support Agent who will provide service desk support to end users and Troubleshooting IT network and hardware.

 

Key Tasks
Provide IT support to end users

  • Resolve helpdesk tickets within SLA
  • Provide telephonic and remote support
  • Perform Ad hoc tasks
  • Perform projects and adhere to deadlines

 

Troubleshooting IT network and hardware

  • Set up end user hardware and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot and maintain cabling
  • Troubleshooting networks
  • Printer troubleshooting

 

Physical activities

  • Occasional laying or checking cables which may involving climbing into ceilings

 

When the job will be performed

  • Typically, standard office hours (Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00)
  • Occasional after hours call outs (including weekends and public holidays)
  • Scheduled standby and call out shifts

 

Where the job will be performed

  • Benoni based / Flora based
  • When required Affinity data centres and other Affinity sites

 
Other requirements

  • Own vehicle needed

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Matric Certificate.
  • A+ Certificate.

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • N+ Certificate
  • LPIC 1

 

Essential Experience

  • 1 years’ experience in IT Support.
  • 1 Years’ experience in hardware.
  • 1 Years’ experience in operating and application systems.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in software.
  • General experience in Linux.

 
Desirable Experience

  • Practical experience in the use of IT maintenance equipment.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of IT hardware
  • Workable knowledge of Helpdesk systems
  • Application of Microsoft Office and Linux software
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Ability to provide technical support telephonically/remotely
  • Problems solving skills.
