To provide a comprehensive and accurate payroll service to the unit. To perform data capture for unit payroll to ensure that correct remuneration and payroll processing objectives are achieved.
Grade 12 with Maths and Accounting.
Minimum of 2 years general payroll experience.
Some experience in payroll related bookkeeping.
Skills and Knowledge
Computer literate in MS Excel.
Understanding of PeopleSoft and Kronos systems is advantageous.
Accuracy and Attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem solving abilities.
Planning and organising skills.
Integrity and confidentiality.
Able to work in a stressful environment.
Key Performance Areas:
Adhere to payroll procedures.
Ensure accurate and timeous payout.
Ensure accurate system data.
Maintain confidentiality of info as per company policy and procedures.
Ensure correct salary inputs for payroll and benefit administration and filing of relevant correspondence.
Provide information/explanations provided accurately reflect the facts – supporting documents, payment history etc.
Employees kept up to date on the progress of payment (in the loop at all stages).
Reports generated as per requirements.
Understands business procedures and processes in order to provide quality outputs to employees.
Ensure familiarity with all relevant company rules and regulations
Preference will be given to employees from the designated groups in line with the provisions of the Employment Equity Act, No. 55 of 1998, SISA internal recruitment policy as well as units employment equity plans.
