The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is a Section 3(a) public entity under the Ministry of Water and Environmental Affairs and is governed by a Board of Directors.

The company became a public entity on 15 July 2001 in terms of the South African Weather Service Act (No. 8 of 2001).

It is an authoritative voice for weather and climate forecasting in South Africa and as a member of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), it complies with international meteorological standards.

As an Aviation Meteorological Authority, SAWS is designated by the state to provide weather services to the aviation industry, marine and a range of other identified clients and to fulfil a range of international obligations of the government.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) hereby invites applications for their one-year Internship Programme.
We are looking for a high- achieving graduate to join our Internship programme in the following field:-
 Science ( BSc Honours in any science related field)- 1 Position – Ref: 2018
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements
 Student MUST have BSc Honours in a Scientific field
 An applicant must be a new graduate or have been unemployed for a period of one year after completion of a tertiary qualification.
Interns will be placed within the SAWS: Head Office in Pretoria.
Successful candidates will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transport. SAWS will pay a monthly stipend which will be R4500 per month Recruitment will be done in line with the SAWS Employment Equity Plan.
Successful candidates will be required to enter into an Internship Agreement with SAWS. SAWS is under no obligation to employ the intern on completion of the programme.
