The Molteno Institute for Language and Literacy is literacy NGO that trains, coach and mentor primary school teachers. The Organisation also develop learner and teacher support materials (LTSM) to help enhance literacy levels of our children in South Africa. The Institute seeks to appoint an Administration Intern, to be based in Johannesburg.

Job Title: Administration Intern
Job Location: Johannesburg

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Programme Manager for Early Childhood Development
  • Receive application forms
  • Keep the diary of the Line Manager
  • Timesheets on a monthly basis, (the first day of the month)
  • Log sheet (first day of the month)
  • Weekly plans, (every Friday)
  • Follow up by email on outstanding documents
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Organise and schedule appointments
  • Plan meetings and take detailed minutes
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters and forms
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Book travel arrangements
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports
  • Provide general support to ECD Learners
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Provide administrative support for the organisation whenever required

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Administration or Administrative Certificate
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Computer Literacy: Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Inter-personal skills
  • Must be discreet, thorough and pays attention to detail, mathematically literate, with good spelling skills, including the ability to generate her own correspondence
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter, use his/her initiative, be able to work under pressure and be able to work as part of team
