Job Title: Junior Research Assistant
Location: Maun, North West, Botswana

Job Summary:
A private organization is seeking one junior and one senior research assistant (RA) to study “The transition (reintegration) of semi-captive elephants into the Okavango Delta.”
KEY AREAS OF STUDIES:
•The effects of transition (reintegration) on stress levels on Elephants
•Social interactions and movement patterns of Elephants

Requirements:
MINIMUN REQUIREMENT:
•A relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA for the Junior Research Assistant
•Experience with wildlife research would be an advantage
•Willing to spend extended time in the bush
•Ability to work as a team and independently

Successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to progress to MPhil or PhD level through the Okavango Research Institute, University of Botswana, upon satisfactory completion of 3-month trial period. Students will be funded for 2.5 years (MPhil) or 4 years (PhD), including university fees, stipend and field expenses. The Research Assistants will be expected to live full-time in a camp in the Okavango Delta, in a rich wildlife area. Remuneration during the RA trial period will be dependent on experience.
