IDC: Industrial Development Corporation Recruits Legal Advisers

A permanent position exists for a Legal Advisor X2 in the Legal and Finance International Services Division of IDC.
The position incumbent will report to the Legal Manager.

Key functions of the position include:

Provide general legal advice, including legal research.
Structure and negotiate commercial transactions including project finance and cross-border financing transactions.
Identify, evaluate and structure import and export finance transactions.
Ensure compliance with internal legal and other IDC procedures and policies.
Identify and minimize potential legal risks.
Draft, review and negotiate financing agreements and other legal documentation.
Make presentations on legal and regulatory developments.
Conducting legal due diligence investigations.
Ensure client satisfaction by providing speedy delivery of agreements and advice.
Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, external legal counsel and other key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain client and institutional relationships, locally and internationally.

Basic understanding of international and local financing instruments

Qualifications and Experience

LLB degree and Admission as Attorney
A minimum of three years post-article experience in the commercial banking sector
Experience in the drafting and negotiation of cross-border, project finance, corporate and structured finance transactions
Exposure to green industries will be an added advantage
