Job Summary:
Communicating with the Manager Traffic Services on specific Key Performance Areas with a view to aligning functions and service delivery objectives against the capacity and capability of the department. Analyzing service delivery trends and capacity against requirements and submits reports supporting specific provisions for consideration during the preparation of capital and operational expenditure estimates to support plans and objectives. Monitoring expenditure against budgetary provisions and preparing motivations with reasons to seek approval for additional funding for specific programs or activities. Manage and direct the implementation of new service level agreements at the department, by providing recommendations to the immediate superior on technical issues and specifications for consideration and inclusion into tenders and contractual agreements. Drafting specifications for tenders. Monitoring and evaluating new and existing contracts. Evaluating the performance of existing providers against set criteria, ensuring the implementation of new agreements prior to the expiration of existing contracts. Defining and adjusting the role boundaries, workflow processes and job design against laid down service delivery requirements. Determining staffing levels and preparing motivations for the filling of vacancies to complement functional objectives and requirements. Ensure a climate conducive to promoting and sustaining motivational and performance levels is cultivated and maintained enabling the section to contribute positively to the department’s service level objectives and outcomes. Directing the distribution of applicable information through Government Gazettes, amendments to legislation, etc. Directing and controlling the provision of information to staff members through work sessions, distribution, and training. Ensuring the communication and implementation of policies, procedures, and legislations.
Requirements:
Traffic Diploma and ITO 3 or Degree in Traffic Science. Computer Literacy, Code A and EC driver’s license. Grade A Examiner Of Drivers Licenses, Grade A Examiner Of Vehicles. Basic computer skills (MS Office, Internet and Outlook), Bilingual. Management skills, Conflict management skills, Assertiveness skills, Interpersonal communication skills. Service orientated approach, negotiation skills, Interpretation of regulations and legislation.
Experience: 6 years relevant experience in Traffic Services of 3 years in a Supervisory position.
