Job Summary:
Responsible for optimally train, facilitate/evaluate/assess/moderate and ensure competencies in all earthmoving machine/TMMs operators and LDV drivers. Issuing Novice and Refresher operating licenses to FAC.FAT and FAMP Operators and LDVs. Effectively training employees in our core functions, skills programmes and National Certificates. Can also be required to do any other ad hoc training which is relevant to the training scope of Fraser Alexander.

Facilitating and conduct assessments on practical and theory:

Conduct training using relevant learning material.

Practically evaluate, assess, and declare employees competent for the work that they do.

Participate in the evaluation of training programmes and review its effectiveness.

Update Training Matrix:

Ensure that all employees are trained as per the matrix.

Follow up on assessments.


Communicate with Line Managers regarding problem areas.

Communicate with Training Manager.

Participate in safety forums.

Attend monthly/weekly ops meetings.

Keep records/Administration:

All accredited training records must be filed at the training center for audit purpose.

All certificates or licenses to be copied and placed in file/s.

Compile and submit monthly training report.

Comply with QMS and all accreditation processes.

Updating of the training database.

Competency Training:

Train personnel on earthmoving machines/TMMs that are relevant to scope of our work.

Train personnel in Skills Programmes and National Certificates in Mineral Processing.

Facilitate site training of Procedures (SOPs), Standard Task Procedures (STPs), Standard Procedures & COPs for the site.

Conduct PTO’s as when required.

Ensure training comply with MQA and ISO standards and practices.

Employee Recruitment:

Help with identifying employees that can read and write when recruited in the company.

Advise management in ensuring that employees that are recruited are trainable.

Conduct dover assessments as when required.


Have an understanding of e-learning technics, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and delivery of e-learning packages.

Be able to use a learning management system (LMS) to enhance automation, reporting and tracking of training.

Capture learners that are trained on MQA accredited courses on ishare system.


Relevant National Diploma

National Certificate in Mineral Processing

Skills Programme in Supervision/Relevant supervision course

Skills Programme in operating mobile machinery for surface excavations

Facilitator course, accredited with ETDP SETA

Assessor registered with MQA

Moderator registered with MQA


3 years industrial experience as a TMM/earthmoving machine operator – multi skilled

5 years’ experience as a driver of LDV

2 years training experience as a Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator


Must have knowledge of QMS/ISO 9001:2015

Must be able to deliver on training outputs and help with bettering production

Must have an advanced understanding of Legislation & Policy orientated

Must have a good understanding of Personal learning & Development
