The Solutions Architect – Software Engineering is responsible for designing software solutions architecture, providing technical leadership and support to contribute to the execution of the Group IT strategy and provide technical advisory to advance the overall health of the Software Engineering function. This role supports the Software Engineering development team to deliver strategic and tactical projects as well as the IT department technology objectives. Oversees the maintenance of superior technology standards of the division thus enhancing the image of Fundi IT and ensure that Software Design and Development standards and best practices are adhered to in delivering software solutions within the division.

Job Summary:
.Design and implement architecture solutions for strategic and tactical projects in line with our business and technology objectives.
.Define software development standards and best practices, taking into account cybersecurity, innovation and IT technology strategy.
.Provide input into the definition and documentation of the Software Development Lifecycle for the Software Development team.
.Ensure that project work and application development is completed within agreed scope, quality, cost and delivers business value as agreed with relevant project stakeholders; including that code reviews, quality assurance testing are done at each agreed development milestone of the project.
.Engage with key project and other relevant stakeholders to ensure requirements are delivered on time and according to high quality standards.
.Assisting staff in resolving complex technical problems while ensuring adherence to quality standards, best practices, and objectives.
.To make recommendations and take decisions on technical or complex business systems functions related to IT development.
.Always ensure that IT Development resources are effectively and efficiently assigned as best as possible to deliver on both strategic and tactical software development and maintenance objectives.
.Attend IT Management Committee and other applicable committees as a representative of our IT Software Engineering function as required.
.Communicate effectively with external parties as well as business systems team and other divisions.
.Acts as the advisory to stakeholders on relevant IT related requirements
.Provide feedback (reporting) to IT management and executive on achievements, pending issues, problems, and suggested recommendations and on team performance and outputs.
.Act as the liaison with external stakeholders on behalf of IT.
.Oversee the day-to-day delivery of external suppliers.
.Live the company values and lead by example.
.Following up on regular intervals and provide constructive feedback about the team member’s progress and performance.
.Providing informal and formal coaching support to team.
.Perform other ad-hoc IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
.Continuous Process Improvement: Ensure full compliance to all IT processes, policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement.
.Innovation: Participate with senior management in initiatives to recommend cutting-edge technologies, digital solutions, and standards.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT /Software Engineering, or related.
Advanced degree either in business or IT would be an advantage

At least 3 years’ experience in a senior software development or technical leadership position.
At least 8 years’ experience working in software development.
