Job description:Printing of all required manuals, question papers (QP) formative and summative documentation (assignments, scopes, calendar, etc.).


•Manage all printing of all requested editorial documents including manuals
•Maintaining an efficient and effective filing system of all documents printed (masters)
•Manage collation of examination material, receipt, control and reporting of examination material
•Ensure regular stock taking and management of printing department and staff
•Provision of management information on printing functions
•Ensure maintenance and repairs to machinery takes place regularly
•Staff development and training of all printing staff.

Printing process management:
1.Printing process management
•Manage printing of all requested editorial documents including manuals
•Execute print requests received from Operations Supervisor and Student Recruitment. Master copies for student material is in PDF and must be executed correctly.
•Execute print requests received for assessment documents for specific amounts. Master copy in paper format, must be collated packed and checked before printing.
•Execute other print request from assessment manager (calendars, student letters, scopes, assignments, etc.)
•Required documents must be sent to students on different time lines, this is a print on demand function as material change constantly.
•Old assessment documents, manuals and other documents have to be readily available at all times when required.

•Maintaining an efficient and effective filing system of all documents printed (masters)
•Maintain a manual and electronic database of manuals, assessment – and other documents both retrospective and new
•Verify and cross check packaging of question papers (QP) according to packing list generated by the systems administrator per venue.
•Verify collation of finalised material, do random checks and balances before the material is despatched.
Stock Taking
•Ensure regular stock taking and management of printing department and staff.
•Counting of all material in the store room takes place on a monthly basis, give assessment manager feedback on stock levels and concerns.
•Ensure stock levels of paper are ordered in advance.
•Manage printing assistants in terms of packing, printing and collating material and time management thereof.
•Staff training and development as and when required.
•Provision of management information on printing functions:
•Provide Operations Manager with detailed information on printing done and material used for budgeting and management purposes.
•Ensure tight security and adherence to exam printing policies and procedure.
•To undertake any other duties delegated by the Senior Management.
•Minimum stock levels maintained.
•0% errors and constant QA checks.
•0 % space for error, constant QA checks prevents errors
•Prevent shortages, reports to Operations Manager to be captured against the budget.
•Adherence to security policy and procedure when printing exam papers.50%

Printing function and Maintenance:
•Ensure maintenance and repairs to machinery occurs regularly
•Repair and maintain machinery required to print, copy etc. as and when required. If unable to repair machinery to contact the necessary service provider.

Management and Leadership:
•Develop and provide in-house training of staff where necessary.
•Ensure all staff has development and career plans in place and receive appropriate development and training to improve identified competencies.
•Ensure that there are sufficient resources within the various sections to perform all requisite activities efficiently and effectively.
•Makes recommendations to General Manager on staffing requirements.
•Meets weekly with staff to provide regular feedback on individual performance.
•Provides role clarity to staff and makes recommendations to the General Manager for tools to help facilitate performance.

1.Matric is essential and a relevant Diploma/Degree is advantageous.
2.5-year experience in a senior position of a printing environment, sound knowledge of the regulatory requirements, QA etc. Must be familiar with the printing processes
3.OCE printing machine operator certificate is essential.
4.Computer literacy is essential especially in MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
5.Good knowledge of Adobe reader.
