Job Title: Operation Coordinator
Job Location: Cape Town

Salary: Commensurate with experience

The purpose of the Operation Coordinator is the logistical and administrative arrangements of the defined activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and improve the operations plan for OS Days
  • Manage the event permit process for OS Days
  • Coordinate logistics for other OS events and activities
  • Manage relationships with service providers
  • Liaise with stakeholders interested in / affected by Open Streets activities
  • Communicate with volunteers and other actors taking part on the day
  • Document meetings, plans and agreements
  • Keep track of agreed budgets and ensuring payments are made on time

Requirements:

  • Passion for building an inclusive and sustainable city
  • Familiarity with Open Streets activities
  • Organising/event management experience
  • A basic degree (Social science / Urban studies / Logistics / Events / Project management / Business Administration) or compensating relevant work experience
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English (isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans a bonus)
  • Attention to detail
  • Organisational skills (creating and keeping deadlines, setting and meeting goals, decision-making, managing appointments, project-management)
  • People skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to work in a changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft package (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Right to work in South Africa
