Job Tilte: Bookkeeper and Administrator
Location: Hillbrow, Johannesburg

The Outreach Foundation seeks to appoint a full-time, suitably qualified and experienced Bookkeeper and Administrator, based in

Responsibilities:

  • Support to Finance Manager to ensure that all stipulated financial, procurement and human resources processes are followed in accordance with OF policy
  • Processing and payment of invoices as instructed by Finance Manager
  • Capturing of financial entries in QuickBooks
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and project advances
  • Process journal entries and any other ad hoc requests by ED, Finance Manager and Project Managers
  • Assist with managing petty cash, including managing receipts and reconciling petty cash records accurately and timeously
  • Assist Finance Manager in maintaining asset register and financial and employment policies
  • Management and maintenance of official documentation including staff leave records, claim forms, expense forms etc
  • Maintaining and updating service provider contacts records
  • Office security
  • In cooperation with receptionist maintain asset register

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years bookkeeping and office management experience
  • A diploma/degree in bookkeeping
  • Effective communication skills in English (spoken, written, reading)
  • Competence and experience using MS Office suite (including EXEL) and QuickBooks accounting
  • Experience of bookkeeping and financial compliance is an essential requirement
  • Proven track record of ability to communicate well with people
  • Hold a clean driver’s license
  • A previous working experience in a NGO would serve as an advantage
  • You should be self-motivated and flexible, friendly, innovative and creative, fair minded and practical
  • Ability to conduct oneself with discretion and sensitivity

You should be a South African citizen or hold a permanent residence permit.
