Sizakuyenza is a small, but dynamic non-governmental organisation, based in the Philippi area. The organisation seeks to assist and support women and children who has been subjected to the trauma of abuse, Loss and Grief, as well as those who fell victim to addictive substances. Sizakuyenza programmes includes a Shelter for Abused Woman, a Substance Abuse programme, and Children and Families Programme. The Organisation is constantly working on expanding our programmes to align with the organisation’s strategic plan.

Job Title: Office Administrator
Job Location: Philippi office, Cape Town.Start date: As soon as possible
Duration: This is a permanent full-time position.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement admin systems and procedures
  • Manage the front desk and directing phone calls
  • Manage social media platforms and basic PR
  • Manage the leave system and keep it up to date
  • Manage meetings and workshops logistics and administration
  • Ensure that there are office and catering supplies, and managing contracts of service providers (such as cleaners, photocopiers, IT etc)
  • Petty cash
  • Organise and manage the filing system for all documents
  • Maintain the office calendar and programme and project activity and events dates
  • Manage travel arrangements including arranging visas, flights, shuttles, car hire, accommodation, and meeting venues
  • Circulate agendas timeously and take accurate minutes of staff meetings
  • Support the director in producing a newsletter

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate
  • Relevant diploma or certificate in office administration
  • Five to ten years working experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Administrative skills
  • Computer skills, Microsoft (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience managing and writing for social media
  • Experience in basic marketing and PR
  • English communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • People and interpersonal skills
  • Pleasant, kind and warm
  • Honest and reliable
  • Well organised and systematic
  • Ability to work independently
  • Team player
  • Telephone manner
  • Have a driver’s licence and own vehicle
  • Language (Afrikaans / IsiXhosa)
  • An interest and/or some experience in fundraising
