AHRI is looking for a social worker to provide social needs to young people referred through the Multi-level HIV Prevention programme and its related studies. The social worker will work within a multi-disciplinary team including social scientists and clinicians who are providing a combination of interventions and health services aimed at reducing HIV incidence, pregnancy, improving health and education outcomes in young people’s lives.

Job Summary:
The post requires an empathetic person who is a logical and critical thinker, active listener, culturally sensitive, and can work independently. This position requires a high level of professionalism in managing research participants and adhering to GCP and clinical practices. The candidate should be willing to travel between sites and within the district and the country to fulfil their duties. This position will be based at the Somkhele site
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:

1. Four-year BA degree (Social work).
2. Valid drivers’ licence with at least two years’ experience in driving
3. Current registration with South African Council of Social Services Professions (SACSSP)
4. Fluency in English and IsiZulu

Minimum experience:

1. At least 5 years of experience with Public and Private Sector
2. Intermediate computer skills and report writing

Skills required:

1. Good verbal and written communication skills in English
2. Accuracy and precision
3. High computer literacy
4. Report writing
5. Must be able to work under pressure
