Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality Graduate Jobs – 12 Various Positions

Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality jointly with National Treasury hereby invites qualified graduates (BSc Civil Engineering and/or National Diploma in Civil Engineering and Project Management) for a training opportunity.

The objective of this programme is to make provision for existence of a pool of qualified Professional Civil Engineers and Civil Engineering Technologists or Technicians that meet requirements to register with professional body ECSA within a minimum period of three years and possibly appoint them into the institution upon completion of the programme.

The program is designed to assist participants with theoretical learning in relevant learning institutions and further engage them in experiential learning in the Municipal Engineering field at the workplace which includes inter alia; data collection, project definition, demand management, design of municipal engineering services, contract documentation, costing of projects, procurement, site supervision and monitoring, quality control, performance management, operations and maintenance of municipal service infrastructure and plant, cost control, survey and project management.

The interns will also be exposed to various activities related to the operation, management and maintenance of municipal service infrastructure (Roads and Storm-water, Water Services, Sanitation Services, Solid Waste Disposal and Land Fill Site Management; and Project Management) within a metropolitan environment.

Mentorship will be arranged for the workplace-based experiential learning sign off and approval towards registration portfolio. On successful completion of the contract, the interns will be required to take up relevant vacant employment positions offered to them within the municipality.

1. CIVIL ENGINEERING & PROJECT MANAGEMENT GRADUATE INTERN: 3 Year Contract (1 POST)

 

Requirements:

 

BSc Civil Engineering Degree Graduate : (Roads & Storm water, Water, Sanitation and Project Management)

A post graduate degree in Project and Construction Management will be considered

Valid code B/EB driver’s licence

Must be Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality or Eastern Cape Province resident

Must be computer Literate

Must be unemployed

 

Total Salary package: R14 625 per month

 

CIVIL ENGINEERING GRADUATE INTERNS: 3 Year Contract (2 POSTS)

 

Requirements:

BSc Civil Engineering Degree Graduates : (Roads & Stormwater, Water, Sanitation, Waste

Disposal and Land Fill Sites)

Valid code B/EB driver’s licence

Must be Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality or Eastern Cape Province resident

Must be computer Literate

Must be unemployed

 

Total Salary package: R14 626 per month

 

2. CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST INTERNS: 3 Year Contract (3 POSTS)

Requirements:

B Tech Civil Engineering Graduates : (Roads & Stormwater, Water, Sanitation, Waste Disposal and Land Fill Sites)

Valid code B/EB driver’s licence

Must be Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality or Eastern Cape Province resident

Must be computer Literate

Must be unemployed

 

Total Salary package: R12 700 per month

 

3. CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN INTERNS: 3 Year contract (6 POSTS)

Requirements:

National Diploma Civil Engineering Candidate : (Roads & Stormwater, Water, Sanitation, Waste Disposal &and Land Fill Sites)

Valid code B/EB driver’s licence

Must be Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality or Eastern Cape Province resident • Must

Be computer Literate

Must be unemployed

 

Total Salary package: R7 700 per month
