Job Title: PLANT AGENT

Job Summary:
To manage production & efficiency of the yellow equipment and to supervise mechanical and administrative staff engaged in maintenance of the plant for the benefit of availability and utilisation.

.Monitor machine condition.

.Generate monthly plant reports.

.Check availability vs utilisation.

.Make sure all plant hours are submitted monthly.

.Check mechanic’s performance.

.Make sure there is no abuse of plant on sites.

.Ensure all repairs are carried out to OEM standards at all times.

.Make sure plant leaves site with the correct paperwork at all times.

.Carry out spot checks on sites to make sure there is no neglect or abuse of company property.

.Manage mechanics to get maximum efficiency and production.

.Monitor technical failures and implement preventative measures.

.Ensure all costs for abuse, negligence and abnormal wear is fairly charged out to sites.

.Assist with costing and verifying quotations.

.Ensure implementation of risk management system.

.Ensure plant returns are correct, signed off monthly and submitted on time.

.Assist with technical problem solving.

.Provide guidance to business in terms of technical staff requirements.

.Attend monthly plant meetings and communicate all relevant information to subordinates.

.Mentor technical staff and manage reporting lines.

.Keep up to date with traffic regulations.

.Compile plant condition reports monthly.

.Assist with management reporting for decision making on major repairs and rebuilds.

.Assist with preparation of internal plant rates in consultation with plant management.

.Ensure Fraser equipment attains maximum availability.
Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

Diesel Mechanic Trade Test

EXPERIENCE:

At least 10 years’ experience in maintaining major earthmoving equipment.
