Oxford University Press is looking for a TVET/Schools General Publisher to lead the research, proposal, development and delivery of strong, market-facing, curriculum-aligned products for the Vocational Market in South Africa as well as the Schools Markets in Southern Africa.

The TVET/Schools General Publisher Publisher will be responsible for ensuring that proposed products are well-positioned to meet the strategic objectives of Oxford University Press as well as to achieve market approval and sales and profitability targets. This post is based in Cape Town.

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the strategy and plan for the TVET and Schools business
Plan and resource market research
Commission and publish TVET and Schools products that increase market share and contribute to profit
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing
Liaise with the Digital product and Innovation team
Manage costs and develop cost control mechanisms

Requirements:
The successful applicant will need:
3 years’ relevant working experience
A relevant degree
Experience in publishing textbooks is essential
Can demonstrate a strong network of relevant contacts
Can demonstrate a track record of conceptualizing and delivering high-quality print and digital products for schools/TVET
Excellent time and project management expertise
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to think and act quickly, negotiate challenges and troubleshoot solutions often under pressure
Code B driver’s license essential
