The WDB Development Training Academy aims to train a new cadre of community workers who would become champions of women’s empowerment and poverty reduction. Internal staff training is geared towards assisting them to acquire accredited qualifications and thereby improve their skills base and further develop their careers.

 

 

Job Title: Operations Manager
Report To: Programme Manager
Location: Head Office

The training and development operations manager has the full responsibility over the portfolio of the training courses. The Manager will implement the new training programs, adjust the current courses in a close cooperation with the leadership team at all levels, she will conduct and supervise training and development programs for employees, plan, organise and direct a wide range of training activities. The training operations manager will conduct induction, safety sessions, and give the operations manager operational support, monitoring, reporting. She will help track and identify gaps and maintain records, and she will work with employees to improve their job skills, and implement the strategy.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to create a sustainable and efficiently managed field operations
  • Execute approved policy and strategy
  • Manage the Human Resource including partnership engagements
  • Monitor the uptake of and appropriateness of the training materials and feedback
  • Identify training needs and training gaps in the organization
  • Provides inputs into the training strategy and the development of specific training developmental plans
  • Optimize the training portfolio as specialized targets courses are offered to managers and employees
  • Plans training courses, sessions and manages and monitors the assigned training budget
  • Manages a training portfolio with external vendors
  • Cooperates with the external training vendors and delivers tailored training programs
  • Oversees the quality of training delivered sessions by external vendors
  • Builds the internal network of trainers and organizes, supports and monitor regulator Train the trainer sessions
  • Monitors the best practice in the training area and introduces it in the organization
  • Evaluate the quality of training courses and implements improvements
  • Participates in meetings, and also training sessions to obtain information useful to training facility which integrates information into training program
  • Assess and manages the training needs of employee and guide them through the most appropriate training methods
  • Adapt the training materials towards e-learning

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree in Education or Social Science
  • Project Management Diploma
  • 3-5 years working in a management position
  • Demonstrate work experience with marginalized communities and facilitating training with adults
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience in community development work
  • Strong background and experience in developing and delivering professional training
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Word including digital media skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  •  Experience in finance and cost saving mechanisms
  • Knowledge of government contract management and Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing stakeholders and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative/consultative management style
  • Budget development and oversight experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
  • Uphold and guard the Vision, Mission, Objectives and values of both the WDB Trust and of the TAT
  • Travel extensively to the TAT Field Branches
  • Driven, organized and meticulous in their work with high capacity to work independently and also in team environment
