Established in 2001, the Community Intervention Centre (CIC) is a nonprofit and non-governmental organisation with a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers that provides a free 24-hour on-site trauma intervention and support service to the Blaauwberg community and beyond.

Job Title: Training Manager
Job Location:  Cape Town
Working Hours: Eight hours per week, flexible
Salary: R5000 per month

The successful candidate will play an integral role in capacity building of the support services, reporting and working in conjunction with GM.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the training arm of CIC
  • Ensure quality of training that is current and standardized
  • Ensure availability of trauma volunteers that renders effective services
  • Ensure skills development plan for current volunteers and staff is in place
  • Offer skills and capacity building to NPO and corporate companies

Requirements:

  • Experience in Victim Empowerment environment and counselling
  • Qualification and proven experience in training
  • Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the WC
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A National Senior Certificate
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Exceptional training and motivational speaking skills

Expectations:

  • Ability to standardize VEP/Trauma training material
  • Research to ensure training remains current
  • Recruitment and facilitation of training of individuals and groups
  • Identify training needs of trauma volunteers in line with service delivery and consultation with GM
  • Preparation and management of training budget
  • Applications for funding for Capacity building
  • Corporate Training and Debriefing: recruit new training avenues and facilitate training/CISD
  • Customer service evaluation as part of continuous development of training material and trainees
  • Ensure compliance to CIC policies and operating procedures
  • Attendance of appropriate forums, meetings and workshops as required
  • A self-starter and ability to work autonomously, whilst being a team player
  • Professional, confident and show initiative in the position
  • Maintains understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods
