To sell financial investment and insurance broking products and services to clients, either directly or through intermediaries in the Group network.

Qualifications
Matric and 120 credits in the Life Insurance Industry.
First Level Regulatory Examination Certificate (RE 1).
Experience
*Business economics and financial management principles and practice to provide financial management solutions.
*Proven sales track record in the financial services sales / insurance broking industry – previous experience in the SBSA branch/ suite environment is preferable.
*Selling and interviewing skills.
Skills and Competencies
Direct Sales.
*Prospect for new business opportunities in the market and explore business expansion opportunities with existing quality clients.
*Analyse and assess client’s current and future needs.
*Apply product and service knowledge to meet market needs.
This includes providing financial planning advice to clients, as well as the packaging/ structuring and tailoring of product and service offerings to close and secure profitable business in a carefully segmented market.
Indirect Sales.
*Ensure that SBFC’s financial services and product offerings are properly promoted in the POE to which attached to ensure lead generation, and to secure access to the bank’s existing client base via sales representatives in the distribution channels eg Relationship Managers in the Commercial and Priority suites, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking branches, wherever appropriate.
Relationship Building.
*Maintain a visible and active presence in the local market to build relationships with new / potential clients, as well as to maintain relationships with existing clients through regular follow up calls.
This includes the proactive anticipation of client needs and the provision of sound financial advice that will attract and retain business and market share.
*Build and maintain an internal (3rd party relationship) network with product suppliers and distribution channels in the Group eg SCMB (Corporate / Commercial Banking), the Retail Priority Suites or branches, as well as Liberty and Charter Life representatives, to promote a professional image and to ensure the synergies and teamwork needed to optimise sales and service delivery.
*Shares information with others and knows how to exploit the network to facilitate the achievement of business objectives / targets.
Customer Service.
*Establish and manage mechanisms whereby customer information is electronically updated and mailed to them on a proactive basis.
*Maintain regular contact with existing customers to ensure that their needs are effectively serviced.
Risk Management.
*Identify and manage business risks indicators for clients and the bank by ensuring that products and service offerings are packaged and structure in such a way as to minimise risk and protect the interests of both parties.
*Considers risk vs.
reward by optimising product mix for clients.
*Comply with rules, regulations and legislation governing South African business operations.
